Kuoni expands into Scandinavia

Swiss travel giant Kuoni Group has acquired Swedish luxury operator Lime Travel for an undisclosed sum.

The company specialises in tailor-made long-haul travel, and recoded a turnover of CHF9.3 million (£6.14 million) last year.

Stockholm-based Lime began trading in 1995 and presently employs 14 people, all of whom will keep their jobs following the deal.

The present co-owner and company chief executive will also remain responsible for the company.

Executive vice-president northern region of the Kuoni Group and chief executive officer of Kuoni Scandinavia Leif Vase Larsen said: “Our new acquisition should offer synergies with the existing premium Kuoni products.

“And, at the same time, it should enable us to expand our luxury travel business into our Norwegian and Danish markets.”

Lime Travel offers tailor-made travel arrangements, with a particular focus on Mauritius, Bali, the Maldives and the Caribbean.

“Kuoni also expects to derive synergies between its new acquisition and its existing high-value Kuoni products,” the Swiss-based group said.

Lime will be incorporated into Kuoni group division market region north.

Kuoni was last year nominated as the World’s Leading Tour Operator by the prestigious World Travel Awards.
