Korean Air has received the prestigious title of Asia’s Leading Airline First Class at the World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia Ceremony 2012.

Founded in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry, the World Travel Awards are recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire.

The award was received by Lee Hyung Koo, Korean Air regional manager for the Singapore Office, who commented: “Korean Air is honoured to be recognised for the efforts we have made in ensuring our First Class customers are provided with the highest quality service.

“We are particularly proud of our First Class Kosmo Suites which is a unique shell-type design providing passengers with independent space whilst also ensuring total privacy.”

Korean Air’s dedication to providing a superior in-flight experience for each and every passenger is also reflected in its on board dining offerings.

While flying First Class, travellers will be treated to gourmet dishes prepared exclusively for the airline using high-quality organic ingredients to create carefully selected western, Chinese and Japanese menus in addition to a traditional Korean menu. Each meal is served with a choice of top-quality wines.

WTA president Graham Cooke said: “Winning is tough but staying on top is even tougher, and Korean Air has proven its world-class credentials by winning ‘Asia’s Leading Airline First Class’ for the third year in succession.

“The airline’s first-class Kosmo Suites offer an unparalleled level of service and seclusion, and typify the World Travel Awards mission to push the boundaries of travel excellence.”
