Jumeirah Group introduces a ‘Resort Wellbeing Chef’

Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hospitality company and a member of Dubai Holding, has appointed Chef Gabi (Gabriele) Kurz as the company’s first ‘Resort Wellbeing’ chef responsible for all healthy dining alternatives for guests at Madinat Jumeirah.

In her new role, she will develop ‘wellbeing’ menus that are both wholesome and nutritionally well-balanced for the resort’s signature restaurants, in‑room dining and Conference & Incentives events, as well as being responsible for the entire menu at Talise Spa.

Chef Gabi originally joined Madinat Jumeirah in 2007 as Chef de Cuisine and developed the concept for a fine-dining restaurant specialising in wellbeing. She has a Master Hotelier degree from Steigenberger College of Hotel Management in her home country of Germany, as well as a certificate for Diabetic and Obesity Consultation.  She conducts regular Educational and Nutritional Advisory classes and is the author of several celebrated vegetarian cookbooks, one of which was recently honoured with the ‘World Cookbook Award’ in Paris in 2011.

Chef Gabi will continue to offer her popular cooking classes and team-building activities which are open to hotel guests and Dubai residents to encourage healthy eating.
