Japan Tourism Agency extends its support to Blossom Japan

As Blossom Japan gears up for its debut in Tokyo early next year, the Japan Tourism Agency has extended its support to the event identifying the opportunity it brings to Japanese tourism.

Hiroshi Mizohata Commissioner of Japan Tourism Agency states “I strongly hope that this event will be successfully held and will provide Japan with a precious opportunity to drastically improve its recognition among the global luxury travel experts”.

The Government of Japan has adopted a new economic growth strategy with a strong focus on their tourism policy. The Japan Tourism Agency has responded to this strategy by increasing the target numbers of foreign visitors to fifteen million in 2013, twenty million in 2015 and twenty five million in 2019.

The high-end of the tourism market has been identified as “high priority” with serious measures in place to target high net worth individuals from overseas markets.

Blossom Japan will host 200 of the top travel arrangers from around the world, with a strong representation from the Japanese market to participate in its Buyer Programme. Buyers who successfully qualify will have the opportunity to meet and further develop their contacts with International and Japanese luxury travel suppliers, developing both the inbound and outbound travel industry of Japan.
