The International Hotel Investment Forum has confirmed Jacques Attali will deliver the key note presentation at the closing lunch of the annual event.

Attali is a former special adviser to president Mitterrand of France and currently president of Planet Finance.

According to IHIF, he has exceptional knowledge and experience.

“His global insight is vital to understanding European economies and in turn how the challenges Europe currently faces will impact the hotel industry,” explained a statement from the event.

“Dr Attali has recently submitted a report to the French advising how to strengthen growth in France and allow the country to maintain its position amongst the global competition while preserving its social model and solidarity.”

The event will take place on Wednesday March 6th.

On the prospect of delivering the key note presentation to the global hotel investment community at the forthcoming IHIF, Attali said: “We live in a global marketplace where economic decisions made on the other side of the world can have an almost immediate impact on the European community.

“Increasingly, market sectors are interlinked and it is therefore critical to be aware of how to steer industries through these challenging times to ensure their sustainability and growth for the future.”

Attali is a renowned politician and economist having founded the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London.

He held the post of president of the EBRD from 1991 to 1993 and assisted many Eastern European countries during their reconstruction.

Tess Pearson, event director, Questex Media Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jacques to IHIF and sincerely believe his economic, political and literary experiences will come together to provide a thought-provoking and engaging key note speech for our delegates.

“We believe that this macro perspective will frame the conference for all delegates.

“Attali is an extremely well respected expert with vast knowledge and will provide a dynamic presentation during lunch on the final day of the conference,” Pearson concluded.
