Islands Routes expands into Barbados

Island Routes Caribbean Adventure Tours has announced its launch in Barbados, its sixth destination.

The brand was voted the World’s Leading Caribbean Attraction Company at the annual World Travel Awards in 2010.

The Caribbean’s fastest growing tour company, Island Routes Tours now offers more than 200 unique tour options for adventure seekers in Jamaica; Saint Lucia; Antigua; The Bahamas; the Turks & Caicos Islands and now Barbados.

“Launching in Barbados has been an exciting and important initiative for Island Routes Tours, as we continue to expand our Caribbean business,” says David Shields, general manager of Island Routes Caribbean Adventure Tours.

“We look forward to expanding on our relationships with our new Certified Partners and the Barbados Tourism Authority to provide the best-of-the-best that Barbados has to offer. Barbados is a classic Caribbean destination that our clients are eager to experience.”

Island Routes Tours experiences immerse guests in Bajan culture, cuisine, and a coastline ringed with 70 miles of white sand.

On the Turtles at Sunset Cruise, luxury catamarans set sail for the Caribbean blue waters of Barbados inhabited by splendid hawksbill turtles, where swimming with these protected creatures is an extraordinary encounter.

The Lunch Cruise also stops for snorkelling on a colourful coral reef teeming with tropical fish including angel fish, parrot fish and blue chromis as well as sergeant major and snapper and a stop at a powder-soft beach.

“Barbados offers so much more than sun, sea, and sand, and we are delighted that Island Routes Caribbean Adventures Tours has established a base on island that will provide our visitors a new outlet for product offerings,” said Campbell Rudder, vice president marketing USA of the Barbados Tourism Authority.

A submarine offers another kind of look at the many species of marine life that call the Freshwater Bay Reef home.

Divers and non-divers alike stay dry on Atlantis by Day as their submarine descends to visit turtles, trumpet fish, moray eels and otherworldly coral that call this ancient reef home.

At a depth of 150-feet where the fish and coral retreat, the hull of a ghostly ship wreck takes over the viewports before an ascent back to the sun and sand.

Guests will be amazed at the difference in the underwater landscape as they explore on Atlantis by Night, the rainbow of colours in the reef are unveiled by beaming spotlights.

For those special celebrations, guests sit up front with the pilot at the large front viewport as Atlantis VIPs.

Island Routes Tours brings Bajan culture to life at sea on a custom-built floating entertainment centre.

Revelers on the Bajan Life Lunch Cruise are invited to put on their dancing shoes for a Calypso party, and their snorkels and SPF for a beach break.
