iPass expands WiFi network in Norway

Oslo Lufthavn Tele & Data AS (OLTD) has expanded the iPass® Mobile Network to cover the 46 airports in Norway that are operated by its government agency, Avinor.

“40 million people travelled through Norway’s 46 airports last year, as it is the most efficient way to travel over Norway’s mountainous ranges that cover 80 percent of the country. It helps explain the need for Norway to maintain this well developed airport system with efficient transport and communication solutions both for business and leisure,” said Morten Eldevik, OLTD Managing Director. “All our Airports have installed the same fourth generation Wi-Fi so iPass users can continue seamless Internet and cloud-based access with a high-level of service quality and availability.”

iPass Open Mobile provides business travellers with a single secure login using corporate credentials, to access over 260,000 hotspots worldwide. For enterprises, iPass Open Mobile—a cloud-based services delivery system—provides complete visibility, control and reporting capabilities of employees’ network usage, security, and costs; helping to drive down the total cost of ownership of enterprise mobility.

“Norway has one of the most developed communication markets in the world,” said iPass Vice President Marcio Avillez. “So we’re pleased that iPass has partnered with OLTD, which is known for its solid Wi-Fi network performance and the value it provides to business travellers throughout Norwegian airports today.”
