Intimate Spa at Tamarind on Barbados’ West Coast Provides relaxation the Bajan Way

Local ingredients, from Tamarind Oil and Bajan sea salt to Barbadian Moscovado brown sugar, take centre stage at the intimate new spa at Tamarind, which relaunched along with the renovated resort in November 2010.

Tamarind’s spa consultants and the stunning setting of Tamarind itself supply the rest of the magic, designed to rejuvenate each and every guest.

To introduce the new spa, Elegant Hotels has announced a special spring offer for guests of Tamarind and sister hotel, The House (Elegant’s adjacent adults-only boutique hotel): Guests can enjoy a spa treatment and treat a loved one to a second treatment of up to equal value for 50% off. For those who are in need of a lot of pampering, guests can always keep the second half price treatment all for themselves!  This special Tamarind Spa offer is valid from March 1, 2011 until June 1, 2011.

The Tamarind Spa offers intimacy and attention to detail unmatched at other Barbadian spas, with two treatment rooms, a tranquil spa pool, and a small, highly trained team of therapists who create a customised wellness experience for each spa-goer. What’s more, guests can opt for treatment indoors or out! A special menu of mini treatments are available beachside, including Sun Treatment, Back Massage and Reflexology.

Tamarind Spa’s menu is extensive, offering a range of therapies to meet the needs and goals of its guests.  These include treatments that incorporate local ingredients from the island, creating a meaningful sense of place as guests embark on their wellness journey. The menu also features internationally recognised brand names such as the organic Dr Hauschka Products. Romantics can enjoy a couples’ treatment, by request, surrounded by candles and rose petals. The former Tamarind Cove Hotel reopened in November 2010 as the new “Tamarind,” following a multi-million dollar renovation.  In addition to the new spa, Tamarind features fully renovated and modernized guestrooms, and two completely redesigned and reimagined restaurants.  Pool and communal areas at Tamarind feature contemporary sun loungers, day beds and decks, transforming outdoor spaces into outdoor ‘living rooms’ providing flexible spaces for dining, drinking, relaxing and events.  Tamarind simultaneously offers a romantic atmosphere for couples and great amenities for families.
