On November 8th of 2013 the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Administration of South Kazakhstan region held an “International Investment Forum on “Green Economy” in the city of Shymkent.

The Forum offered great opportunities for dialogue at the international level between the leading experts of the “green economy”, discussions on the role of regions in the transition of Kazakhstan to the “green economy”, as well as the experience of foreign countries in the development and implementation of strategies for the creation of the “green economy” and innovations in the development of the “green economy”, introduced in Kazakhstan and abroad. One of the important topics of the forum was the role of regions in the exhibition “Astana EXPO 2017”.

In addition, an exhibition of green technologies and innovative projects in the field of renewable energy, construction, housing, agriculture and waste management took place within the framework of the Forum.
