IndiGo Airline starts services to Dubai

Indigo Airlines has inaugurated its first international route, offering departures from the United Arab Emirates to Delhi.

The second largest budget carrier on the sub-continent will fly to Dubai from September, with the first 25,000 passengers offered cut price fares

The maiden flight carried 162 passengers from Delhi to Dubai earlier.

“We promise the best on-time performance, consistently low fares and a generally hassle-free travel experience,” explained said Aditya Ghosh, IndiGo Airline president.

IndiGo is attempting to expand the European low-cost model into the Asian market.

The carrier uses a single aircraft type and short-distance travel routes (allowing for quick turnaround times), mirroring those of low-cost carriers like Ryanair in Europe, Southwest in America and AirAsia in Asia.

The popularity of budget airlines in Dubai is expected to increase in the coming years as Indian expats travel too and from the country for work.

City.Mobi

Also in the United Arab Emirates today, City.Mobi is celebrating the success of its new guide to Dubai.

City.Mobi offers the most comprehensive mobile travel guides available, with over 800 cities in 200 countries listed. Each is developed by the City.Mobi team to combine into a single global travel directory.

Dubai.Mobi is the latest in this illustrious line up, offering click to call functionality – which means no scribbling down telephone numbers.

Most entries are also linked to websites where users can quickly access more detailed information if needed.

City.Mobi guides include user reviews and traveller utilities such as a translation guide, currency converter, news and local weather guide.
