The boutique 14-room Ice Hotel Romania is delighted to release exclusive images of this seasons hand-sculpted rooms.
Beginning work in December an expert team of 50 local workers will use around 300 tonnes of ice to create the Ice Hotel Romania ready to open to guests on 25 December 2010. The pristine ice is harvested from nearby Lake Balea and then it is artistically carved, sculpted and polished to produce 14-themed bedrooms, a super-cool Ice Bar and a romantic Ice Chapel.
Each year the Ice Hotel Romania and its interior are slightly different offering guests a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This year the design of the rooms has been even more innovative.
In the enchanting Carpathian Forest Room, tall ice trees extend up to the roof and envelop the bed, and in the Hidden Gem Room, intricately carved diamonds replace the stars and twinkle with the icy light. Oversized chess piece sculptures fill the Monarch’s Retreat Room and in the Snowflake Shelter Room, the unique detail of a giant snowflake is captured within a sheet of ice.
