Ibis launches sleep art app

Ibis will be the first economy hotel chain to offer an entertainment app, employing sound and motion sensors to sketch and draw movements and sounds while people sleep to reveal the ‘art of sleep’.

The Sleep Art app confirms ibis’ commitment to a happy sleep and enhancing experience of all sleepers. Merging digital functionality and design the app will consist of a menu screen giving guests the opportunity to either start generating art from the moment they go to sleep or learn more about the Sleep Art project. It will also include an alarm function to wake the user up at a preferred time, synced to the completion of their own piece of art. completed guests will then be able to either email their artwork or post to Facebook and share through social media.

Commenting on the launch of Sleep Art, Thomas Dubaere Managing Director for Accor UK & Ireland says, “Since the launch of the revolutionary Sweet Bed™ by ibis last year we have continually invested in research and new technology to guarantee our guests a happy sleep and challenge and exceed the expectations of customers in the economy sector. The Sleep Art app will enable any member of the public, including our guests, to engage with the ibis offer on a creative as well as a functional platform and position ibis as pioneers in the economy hotel sector not only as sleep experts but also as digital innovators.”

Recent research revealed that 70% of guests rank a comfortable bed as the single most important factor when choosing an economy hotel. The ibis Sleep Art app is the next phase in improving the sleep experience for all and is available to download for free from the App store now.
