Iberia adds more than 8,000 seats on domestic and european routes

In August Iberia will be adding 8,000 seats to meet higher demand to several holiday destinations.

In Spain, the popular Canary Islands cities of Tenerife and Gran Canaria get the biggest increase, followed by Barcelona, partly to help feed the company’s long-haul routes.

In the rest of Europe, Berlin is top with 3,500 extra seats, followed by Madrid-Paris, with up to five daily return flights, and Venice, with a boost in weekend capacity.

At the kick-off to August holidays this weekend, the Iberia Group will operate more than 2,000 flights from its hub in Terminal 4 of the Madrid-Barajas airport. This year’s new entries to Iberia’s summer offering are Recife and Fortaleza in Brazil, Los Angeles, and the new flights to Miami and São Paulo from Barcelona. For another year Iberia resumed its July-September services to Dubrovnik, Zagreb, and St. Petersburg.
