Hyatt Times Square New York opens to public

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Hyatt Times Square New York, the seventh hotel to be added to the Hyatt-branded portfolio in Manhattan.

The 487-room hotel stands 54 stories high, making it the tallest newly built, freestanding Hyatt hotel in the United States.

This newest addition to Hyatt’s portfolio is also the third Hyatt-branded hotel to open in Manhattan in 2013.

Hyatt Times Square welcomes its first guests just in time for the start of the holiday season and is a perfect option for holiday shoppers, Broadway show-goers and business travellers.

Located on West 45th Street, the hotel is steps away from world-famous Times Square at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue.

The hotel is within walking distance of Broadway theatres, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Centre and flagship Fifth Avenue shops.

“We are rolling out the red carpet, eager to welcome our first guests and future guests to come,” said Richard Morgan, general manager, Hyatt Times Square.

“We have created a chic and modern urban retreat for city explorers in one of New York City’s most famous and action-packed neighbourhoods.

“We are especially delighted to share our local lore and favourite neighbourhood spots so guests can enjoy Hyatt’s authentic hospitality as well as enjoy an authentic New York experience.”

The George Wong-designed guestrooms offer an intimate, apartment-like feel with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows.

The décor juxtaposes neutral, light-toned fabrics and warm woods with brilliantly coloured, city-themed art pieces, including a pop-art lounge chair created by a local artist.

With only 11 spacious rooms per floor, the hotel also features 49 suites with modern indulgences such as large bathrooms featuring deep soaking tubs adjacent to rain-head showers.

For the ultimate in chic city living, the hotel’s Premier Suite features a private terrace with dramatic views of the dazzling Manhattan cityscape.

Notable in-room features are 47-inch flat screen TVs, ergonomic workspaces, in-room coffeemakers and refrigerators, and multiport connections to suit guests’ electronic/connectivity needs.

All guests can also enjoy the 24-hour fitness centre with state-of-the-art cardio machines and free weights.
Slated to open in time for New Year’s Eve, the hotel’s stylish George Wong-designed eclectic diner offers a vibrant setting for meals as well as take-out service.

Additional Hyatt Times Square amenities and meeting spaces are scheduled to open by early 2014.

The hotel is now accepting reservations.
