Hyatt supports military couples

On May 22, 2011, twenty-five military couples from all branches of the Armed Forces will gather ocean side to be joined in holy matrimony by famed K-EARTH 101 Radio Morning Show host, Gary Bryan at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa.

Huge supporters of the unyielding service of our troops, Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa decided to join forces with one of L.A.‘s top rated morning shows and the USO to give back to those who have given everything for the U.S. by offering 25 deserving military couples the chance to wed in a unforgettable mass military wedding. Military couples are invited to submit their stories at http://kearth101.radio.com/gary-marries-the-military/ stating why they deserve to be married by Gary Bryan at Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa.

“We have the great fortune of being home to over 150 weddings a year; however, this time we are privileged to be throwing this wedding for a community whom we have made a priority of supporting over the years,” said Cheryl Phelps, general manager of Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa. When asked about his participation, K-EARTH 101’s Gary Bryan offered, “Everyone knows of our fundraising work with the USO, so when the Hyatt came to us with this idea, we were thrilled to join in. It’s a great way to demonstrate our ongoing support of America’s heroes. We look forward to creating an unforgettable wedding experience for these deserving military couples, and the Hyatt Huntington Beach is the perfect place to do it.”

The ceremony will take place at 1pm PDT in the resort’s Lighthouse Courtyard over Armed Forces Weekend on May 22, 2011. Honoring proper military tradition, each couple will be presented with a joint service presentation of the saber arch and flying of each of the Armed Forces flags and will be married by Gary Bryan, along with two military chaplains. After the 25 couples are pronounced “husband and wife” they, along with their guests, will be ushered into the Huntington Ballroom for a festive cocktail reception hosted and catered by the resort’s creative culinary team.

As part of this elaborate wedding package, each of the 25 couples will also be granted a complimentary wedding night stay at the newly renovated resort and one very fortunate couple will win a special honeymoon package including a three night stay, couples spa treatments at Pacific Waters Spa, and dinner for two at The Californian, the resort’s AAA Four Diamond restaurant.

In addition to the kind support of the USO in spreading the word about the event throughout the military branches, a number of generous sponsors and wedding vendors have volunteered their time and services to pay homage to our servicemen and women and share in the opportunity of making this a day to remember for the 25 couples. The Bob Hope USO at LAX Executive Director Michael Teilmann says, “We are delighted to be part of this magical and memorable day in the lives of these very special military couples. America needs to show that we care, and this event truly ‘ties the knot’ on a day these warriors and their spouses will cherish for life.”
