Hyatt Regency London

Hyatt Regency London

Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill will commence a multi-million-pound soft refurbishment of all guestrooms and the Regency and Regency Executive suites on the 7th, 8th and 9th floors from 2 February to mid-May 2011. The hotel will remain fully operational during this time.

The Regency Club Lounge® on the 8th floor will also be refurbished and extended to either side of the 8th floor lobby, creating an additional area for guests to relax when staying on the club floor and in the hotel’s suites.  Following the refurbishment, the 7th floor will also become a Regency Club floor (in addition to the 8th and 9th floors) and the hotel will become a 434 bedroom hotel.

Furthermore, six new suites, the Regency Studio Suites will be created.  Each suite will offer an elegant space, ideal for relaxing in after a busy day in London.  The new suites will have luxurious bedrooms with seating areas and guests will benefit from such useful touches as built-in work desks, dressing tables and designated bar refreshment areas.  Each Regency Studio Suite will have an en-suite dressing room and spacious bathrooms with separate showers including de-mist, illuminated mirrors. The latest technology will also be housed in these new suites, including flat-screen televisions, DVD players and TVs in the bathroom.

Hunt Hamilton Zuch Ltd, the leading international interior designers specialising in the hotel and leisure industry, have created the redesign of the guestrooms and suites which will continue to be light and airy with a contemporary and elegant feel.  All rooms will feature carefully chosen colours of taupe, chocolate and warm grey with mauve and purple accents.  Each room will also offer luxurious accessories such as armchair throws in lavender and mauve, cut velvet cushions from Osborne & Little in lavender and warm grey, and black-and-white abstract artwork to add originality.  Following feedback from the hotel’s guests, all rooms will also have sound insulation added to the walls, connecting doors and guestroom doors.  This will bring the insulation to the modern standards, expected by guests in the 21st century.  The bathrooms will be enhanced with improved shower screens and offer natural coloured materials to enhance the feeling of well-being.

Guest corridors on the 7th, 8th and 9th floors will also be refurbished.  Guests will be welcomed from the lift lobbies to corridors lined in silvery taupe punctuated with black- and-white photography of London’s Royal parks.  A taupe and chocolate cut-pile velvet carpet with an organic floral design will offer an urban garden feel.  Each guestroom will also feature new entry doors with a contemporary take on a traditional panelled door, with a high gloss finish in taupe.

In order to minimise any disruption to the hotel’s guests, all three floors will be completed in phases and reopened as the work is completed.  During the refurbishment the hotel’s Regency Club Lounge Services will be relocated temporarily to alternative areas of the hotel, to maintain this, most important aspect of the hotel’s service to the Regency Club guest.  All banqueting and conference facilities will continue to be fully operational throughout this time and The Montagu and Locanda Locatelli will also remain open and unaffected.

The refurbishment programme will enhance Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill,  ensuring that it remains in line with the select Hyatt Regency brand worldwide.  It is being carried out in time for 2012, when the eyes of the world will be focused on London during the Diamond Jubilee Year and the 2012 Olympics.
