Hurtigruten’s ‘1893 Ambassador’ loyalty program attracts thousands of past guests

Just six months after its launch, Hurtigruten’s “1893 Ambassador ” Loyalty Program has garnered more than 16,000 registrations from past guests – a resounding response that has prompted Hurtigruten to expand membership beyond Europe and the U.S. to customers worldwide. Members enjoy exclusive discounts of 10% off any Classic Norway voyage longer than three days and 5% off an Explorer Voyage to Europe or the remote destinations of Greenland, Antarctica or Spitsbergen. Additionally, members receive 5% savings on selected excursions on the Norwegian Coastal Voyage itineraries. A bevy of other benefits includes a bridge visit on the Norwegian Coastal Voyage; a welcoming fruit basket; three-day bicycle rentals; a quarterly member newsletter with background stories and insider tips; and a personalized member card.

“We are very pleased about the remarkable support and consequent loyalty shown to us by our guests,” says International Marketing Manager Sybille Waldt. “The keen interest in the program encourages us to expand it beyond Europe and the USA, thus making the benefits of 1893 Ambassador accessible to all our customers around the globe.”

The discount rewards can also be combined with Early-Booking fares and other selected discount programs. Membership in the program is free of charge and its included discounts are for the cruise component only. Guest who have already cruised can join by calling 877-301-3059; new travelers can join the program while onboard their voyage or after returning home.

Hurtigruten is a world leader in expedition cruising, sailing to the most remote of destinations including Antarctica, Greenland and the Arctic’s Spitsbergen as well as year round along Norway’s coast and Europe in the spring and fall.
