Honeymooners dismiss impact of rise in airport departure tax

Honeymooners dismiss impact of rise in airport departure tax

Hitched.co.uk, the UK’s leading wedding website, has published the results of a poll conducted on its site last week which show that over two-thirds of respondents did not think the rise in tax would affect their honeymoon plans.

With only 4.4% claiming that the rise would impact their honeymoon, there are still 28.9% of couples who do not know what the affect would be.

Darren Noel, commercial director of hitched.co.uk, explained:  “This is much better than has been reported or anticipated by the travel industry.  Obviously tax rises can take time to make an impact, but with honeymoon planners they are looking well ahead for their trip and at the moment it seems that the honeymoon market is not overly concerned by the rise.”
