Holiday Inn Express taps into luxury ski market

The 145-room Holiday Inn Express Snowmass Village hotel has opened its doors in Colorado. The four-story property, which is the latest addition to IHS group, is located at the base of Snowmass Mountain.

The hotel is expected to appeal to avid skiers and snowboarders in the winter as well as hikers and mountain bikers in the warmer months of the year.

Heather Balsley, senior vice president, Americas Core Brands & Brand Operations, IHG, commented: “Given its prime location in a popular ski market, the Holiday Inn Express Snowmass Village hotel will be a great destination for outdoor sport enthusiasts who want to spend more time on the mountain than in their room. We are proud to welcome this extremely well-located property into the Holiday Inn Express brand portfolio.”

Jim Morrissey, general manager of the Holiday Inn Express Snowmass Village hotel, commented:  “We are looking forward to welcoming our new guests to this unique Holiday Inn Express hotel. By incorporating elements from traditional ski-lodge style hotels with the modern conveniences and travel amenities smart travelers have come to expect, our hotel provides a unique option for travelers wanting to enjoy the beauty of Snowmass Village throughout the year.”

All guest rooms have been updated and have a wide variety of amenities including iPod docking stations, large under-bed trundle drawers, cubbies for ski gear and a place to hang skis. The hotel also features a heated outdoor pool, two hot tubs, a 24-hour fitness center and more than 1,100 square feet of meeting space. Guest rooms feature contemporary styling, comfortable queen, king-sized or two double beds, a sitting area with a lounge chair and an in-room coffee machine featuring complimentary Smart Roast™ 100% Arabica coffee.

The complimentary Express Start™ breakfast bar offers a full range of breakfast items, and now features healthy breakfast items, including Chobani® yogurt, whole wheat English muffins, Special K® cereal with red berries, new oatmeal flavors in cups and a toppings bar - for yogurt, cereal and pancakes. Additionally, the breakfast bar continues to offer a rotation of egg and meat selections, biscuits, fruit, the brand’s proprietary cinnamon roll and Smart Roast coffee.
