Raffles Hotels & Resorts president Peter French has announced the appointment of Christian Hirt as general manager of Raffles Istanbul.

Hirt’s career began in his native Germany and he has since gained experience in North America, Europe and Australia.

He knows Istanbul from the time he was director of operations at Swissôtel The Bosphrous, Istanbul for three years.

He then transferred to Swissôtel Sydney as general manager from 2013 to April 2016.
French said: “Christian is a dedicated professional.

“His guiding principles are guest satisfaction, service quality and attention to detail, all of which chime perfectly with the Raffles Hotels & Resorts philosophy of emotional luxury.

“He brings his extensive overall experience, as well as an impressive hands-on approach.

“Both of these will stand him in good stead, in steering the continuation of Raffles Istanbul’s healthy growth, in a city he knows so well.”

Prior to joining Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, Hirt held executive positions with Le Méridien and Kempinski hotel group in Germany, St. Petersburg, Russia and North America.
