Hilton to triple operating assets by 2012

Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement with Eros Resorts & Hotels Ltd, a company of Eros Group to manage two new properties in New Delhi’s fast-growing business district of Mayur Vihar. The agreement will see Hilton Worldwide’s fourth Hilton Hotel & Resorts property in India, and the introduction of the first DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in India. The properties are part of a twin-tower conversion project strategically located in India’s capital city. Hilton New Delhi Mayur Vihar is scheduled to open within the next few months. The other building which is currently operating as an unbranded hotel will officially open as DoubleTree by Hilton New Delhi - Mayur Vihar soon.

“Hilton Worldwide is one of the fastest-growing hotel companies in terms of deals signed globally. For 2010, we achieved a global pipeline that included 868 hotels and more than 138,000 rooms worldwide, making this one of the largest pipelines in our history and in the industry,” said Christopher J. Nassetta, President and CEO, Hilton Worldwide.

He added, “We are focusing a significant amount of our development efforts in the Asia Pacific region - with 112 hotels and 32,916 rooms in the pipeline. We foresee phenomenal opportunities in India. We are expanding rapidly and will more than triple our presence in the country in the next two years - from four trading hotels to a total of 14, including these two properties signed with Eros Resorts & Hotels.”

New Delhi has grown rapidly in its infrastructure development. The recent opening of the New International Airport together with the successful implementation of the mass transit Metro project have led to a growing number of leading global and domestic companies to establish their presence in the city, making it an increasingly important commercial destination.

Hilton New Delhi Mayur ViharThe conversion project is an existing twin-tower complex located in Mayur Vihar, East Delhi. The adjoining tower will be the DoubleTree by Hilton New Delhi Mayur Vihar. The complex sits on the intersection of the exit road of DND expressway connecting the east and west sections of New Delhi. It lies between two key Metro stations, further enhancing accessibility to Central and South Delhi.

Once completed, Hilton New Delhi Mayur Vihar will offer 173 guest rooms including six suites, three food & beverage outlets including a stylish lobby lounge & bar, an all-day dining restaurant and a speciality restaurant. Leisure facilities at the hotel will include a fully-equipped, state-of-the-art health club, a spa and an outdoor pool. There will also be an Executive Lounge, meeting facilities and an on-site car parking facility for the convenience of its guests.

DoubleTree by Hilton New Delhi Mayur ViharThe hotel is part of a twin-tower complex. The DoubleTree by Hilton New Delhi Mayur Vihar has 196 guest rooms including four suites. Guests will be able to dine at the all-day dining restaurant or a speciality restaurant. The hotel is also equipped with a business centre, event space for corporate meetings or social functions for 600 guests, as well as an on-site car parking facility. To help hotel guests relax and recharge, there will be a fully-equipped health club and an outdoor pool.

Hilton Worldwide currently operates four hotels under two brands in three key cities in India. These include Hilton Janakpuri New Delhi, Hilton Mumbai International Airport, Hilton Chennai and Hilton Garden Inn Saket New Delhi.

Inclusive of these two new properties in New Delhi, Hilton Worldwide expects to open a total of 10 new hotels by 2012, including five Hilton Hotels & Resorts, three DoubleTree by Hiltons, a Hilton Garden Inn and a Hampton by Hilton. These properties are located in key Indian cities and hospitality markets including New Delhi, Bangalore, Gurgaon and Baroda.

To-date, Hilton Worldwide has more than 20 properties under various stages of development across its portfolio of brands in India. Details of these pipeline properties will be announced together with the owners at the appropriate time.
