Hilton Hotels & Resorts opens second Hotel at Heathrow Airport

Hilton Hotels & Resorts today announced the opening of its Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5, its newest hotel in the United Kingdom and second hotel at Heathrow Airport. The flagship brand of Hilton Worldwide pioneered the airport hotel concept when its founder Conrad Hilton opened the first airport Hilton hotel in 1959.

Dave Horton, global head, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, said “As a leading global hotel brand in the UK we are delighted to open our second hotel at one of the world’s busiest airports. From exceptional restaurants and bars to a luxurious spa, Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 is a highly anticipated addition to Heathrow. We look forward to welcoming travelers to this outstanding new hotel and providing the renowned and authentic hospitality that travelers across the UK and around the world expect from Hilton.”

Located just over a mile from the airport’s Terminal 5 building, the 350 bedroom Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 is set within 13 acres of landscaped grounds and provides upscale accommodation for leisure and business guests travelling through the airport or visiting the hotel as a destination of its own. The hotel can accommodate up to 1170 events guests in 926 square metres of conference space, designed for lavish gala evenings or global conferences.  Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 also welcomes weddings for up to 800 guests in its Grand Ballroom, with the surrounding landscaped gardens providing a beautiful backdrop.

The hotel features a range of food and beverage options, including the signature restaurant Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen, the latest dining experience to come from celebrity chef Cyrus Todiwala OBE.  The restaurant is his first venture outside of central London where he currently runs the popular Cafe Spice Namaste, The Parsee and Cafe T.  Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen offers exciting and innovative pan Indian cuisine as well as a Chef’s Table offering tasting menus and a chance to watch Chef Cyrus at work in the kitchen.

The Gallery restaurant and bar, located off of the lobby, specialises in seasonal and local produce freshly prepared and cooked to order, open to guests throughout the day. Guests will also be able to relax and soak up the views in the hotel’s River Bar.  With its buzzing atmosphere and chic surroundings, the River Bar is just the place for drinks and offers wines, beers and spirits along with a full variety of non-alcoholic beverages and light snacks.

The contemporary guestrooms are each fitted with a 37” integrated flat screen HD television, Hilton Serenity beds, deluxe bathrooms, a generous workspace and complimentary high speed internet access. The hotel also provides a Hilton Fitness by Precor facility equipped with treadmills, cross trainers and weight machines open 24-hours.

Greg Place, general manager of Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 said, “We are delighted to be welcoming guests to our new upscale Hilton hotel on the doorstep of Heathrow’s Terminal 5. We will be providing world-renowned Hilton service to business and leisure travellers using Heathrow airport, as well as providing large scale conference and events space in the area.  We also look forward to welcoming guests and local residents to our luxurious spa and the destination restaurant, Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen, led by Head Chef Cyrus Todiwala.”

Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 will be home to the luxurious ‘Imagine Spa’ featuring a hydrotherapy pool and eight treatment rooms. Offering hotel and day guests the flexibility of booking time rather than treatments, each visitor is recommended the most appropriate treatment as part of a consultation process. The spa menu includes indulgent aromatherapy baths, a wide range of results driven and relaxation based facials, massage and natural seaweed wraps all using the latest products from Babor.
