Hilton HHonors launch “Support the Dream” program

Hilton HHonors launch “Support the Dream” program

More than 700 U.S. athletes will be one step closer to fulfilling their Olympic and Paralympic dreams this summer as they make their way to London to compete in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. To show support for Team USA, Hilton HHonors, the loyalty program for Hilton Worldwide’s 10 distinct hotel brands and a proud sponsor of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams, is encouraging fans to submit good luck messages to Team USA with the launch of the “Support the Dream” program. Through August 12, 2012, fans can send their well-wishes at HHonors.com/SupportTheDream. For every good luck message posted, HHonors will donate $1 worth of amenities to help improve U.S. Olympic Training facilities, up to $250,000 worth of improvements.

The refurbishments will include beds, pillows, sheets and towels along with other amenities needed at the facilities to ensure that athletes have a comfortable place to relax and rejuvenate after a long day of training.

“I know what it’s like to spend months away from home, training in the hopes of making it to the Olympic Games,” said Olympian and HHonors spokesperson Kerri Strug. “Training can be both physically and mentally challenging, making it even more important for athletes to have a space where they can feel at home and unwind. The upgrades that Hilton HHonors - with the help of Team USA fans across the country - is able to provide will make a lasting impact to help athletes pursue their Olympic dreams.”

In addition to giving back to Team USA, Hilton HHonors members who submit their good luck messages by July 1, 2012, can enter for the chance to win one of two trips for two to cheer on Team USA at the London 2012 Olympic Games. A variety of other prizes, including a day at a U.S. Olympic Training Center, an exclusive meet and greet with Michael Phelps, HHonors points packages and more will be awarded each time Team USA wins a medal in London.

“As we continue to support Team USA on the road to London, Hilton HHonors is excited to introduce the ‘Support the Dream’ program, giving fans another way to feel inspired and connected to the Olympic spirit,” said Jeff Diskin, senior vice president, global customer marketing, Hilton Worldwide. “Through our commitment to the U.S. Olympic Committee, it is our hope that we can make a significant contribution with these refurbishments to ensure the success of the next generation of Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls.”
