Greene County Tourism Launches Strategic Marketing Campaign

Greene County Tourism and its community of tourism partners are pleased to announce the launch of the county’s new tourism website, Partnering with Adworkshop/Inphorm, an award winning digital marketing agency in Lake Placid, N.Y., Greene County Tourism aims to raise awareness and increase visitation throughout the region.

The campaign and promotional efforts feature the tagline, “Awaken to Adventure,” and highlight the Great Northern Catskill’s many opportunities for family fun and adventure throughout the seasons.  The messaging and imagery will communicate to travelers the beauty of the Catskills’ unique landscape and convey that Greene County is a four season resort destination with everything to offer, just two hours from New York City and three hours from Boston.

Greene County has embraced family vacationers for more than a century, and its scenic mountains, crystalline creeks and rivers, and thick forest preserves look much as they did 150 years ago.  From a zip-line adventure tour, to an exploration of the Hudson River Art Trail, to a hike to Kaaterskill Falls — the highest cascading waterfall in New York State — there is no shortage of activities for the whole family.

The new website serves as a one-stop information resource for travelers, featuring information about the region’s history, upcoming Catskills events and festivals, area attractions, arts and cultural offerings, outdoor activities, lodging properties and the Catskill family resorts.

The Catskills events page, is a major focal point of the new website, offering tourists and local residents an all-encompassing view of what is going on throughout the county.


The new website is part of a strategic marketing campaign that Greene County Tourism launched this year, complete with new branding, a new logo and tagline, an integrated media plan, social media integration, high definition video, and proactive public relations. 

“Our community of tourism partners identified the need for a new, fresh brand and marketing message that really speaks to what Greene County has to offer — from the highest peaks of the Catskills, to the historic Hudson River, and the wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities located close to over 20 million people,” Warren Hart, Greene County Economic Development, Tourism and Planning Director, stated.  “Adworkshop’s tourism branding and destination marketing success with destinations throughout New York is the biggest reason the agency rose to the top of our highly competitive bid process,” Hart added.
