Green Globe Certification will profile its International Sustainability Standard for Events at the Dominican Showcase November 10-14, 2011.

Green Globe Certification CEO Guido Bauer said: “Green Globe is the only international certification organization to accredit green events worldwide. In destinations around the world, Green Globe has certified hundreds of hotels and convention and congress centers. These venues work with PCOs and direct with their clients to deliver green events and meetings which are in high demand.

“The development of the Event Standard as been undertaken by Green Globe’s International Advisory Group including the German Convention Bureau (GCB), German Event Organizers Association (VDVO).

“Since its launch, this international Event Standard has been adopted by the European Association of Event Centers (EVVC) as the meeting industry standard for sustainability. It will be a great opportunity for us to present the Green Globe Standard for Events at the Dominican Showcase 2011,” added Mr. Bauer.
