GetThere signs with SilverRail

GetThere and SilverRail Technologies have signed an agreement where the latter will deliver global rail content including additional European rail providers to the former.

With this agreement, GetThere will significantly and more rapidly expand and enhance its current rail offerings which include French rail, UK rail, Canadian rail, German and US rail as well as Eurostar.

SilverRail Technologies’ platform, SilverCore, aggregates multiple global rail companies and provides access to all scheduling, inventory, and pricing.

“By partnering with SilverRail, we can quickly bring even more rail choices to our customers in North America and Europe,” said Jason Geall, director of GetThere operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“Access to rail content is a priority for many GetThere customers and offering global rail content means additional opportunities for compliance, savings and choice within their managed travel programs.”

Today, GetThere users can view, compare and book air and rail tickets in a single display to determine the most efficient and cost effective mode of travel. With SilverRail, travelers will also enjoy new features such as ticketless transactions and the ability to modify and cancel rail itineraries online.

“Passenger rail has become the transportation of choice for travelers and companies looking for fast, efficient, cost effective and environmentally friendly travel methods. SilverRail’s partnership with GetThere brings rail to the GetThere platform in a standard, simplified user interface across leading global rail operators making rail as easy to book as air,” said SilverRail chief executive Aaron Gowell.

“The additional demand from GetThere’s customers, who spend nearly $9 billion on travel each year, provides additional value for all rail operators connected to SilverRail’s platform SilverCore.”
