GBTA: Senator Mary Landrieu to keynote The Masters Program 2014

The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) – the voice of the global business travel industry – today announced Senator Mary L. Landrieu (D-LA) will deliver the opening keynote at The Masters Program 2014 being held February 10-11, 2014 in Washington, D.C.

“We are pleased to have Senator Landrieu keynote The Masters Program and discuss the Congressional outlook for 2014,” said Michael W. McCormick, GBTA executive director and COO. “Her experience in the Senate and on various committees makes her an ideal candidate to provide critical insight on the nation’s airport screening issues and other topics of importance to the business travel industry.”

Senator Landrieu was first elected to the Louisiana State Legislature at the age of 23. After serving eight years as a State Representative and two terms as State Treasurer, in 1996 she became the first woman from Louisiana elected to a full term in the U.S. Senate.

Senator Landrieu is currently the Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security and a member of the Energy and Natural Resources, and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committees. She is expected to take over as Chair of the Energy and Natural Resource Committee later this year.

The Masters Program, celebrating its 20th anniversary, brings together the best and brightest minds in the business world for the ultimate networking and learning experience. GBTA has continued The Masters Program’s rich tradition by attracting business leaders, innovators and experts seeking to exchange ideas and share fresh perspectives on strategic leadership and global business thinking. In addition to Senator Landrieu, The Masters Program 2014 will feature international best-selling author Jim Collins, VerbalizeIt Co-Founder and CEO Ryan Frankel, Skyscanner Co-Founder and CEO Gareth Williams, KDS CEO Dean Forbes, American Express Executive Vice President and General Manager Pamela Codispoti and Concur CEO Steve Singh.
