Four Seasons Lanai present the Lanai Ukulele Festival

Four Seasons Resorts Lana’i, in partnership with the Lana’i community, HawaiiONTV.com and Jazz Alley TV, is pleased to announce the first annual Lana’i Ukulele Festival July 29-30, 2011.

The alluring sounds of the ukulele will sweep the island – from the beaches of Manele Bay to the upcountry of The Lodge at Koele. Throughout the two-day event guests will be treated to complimentary performances by legendary performers including Grammy winner Richard Ho`opi`i, Tony Conjugacion, Brittni Paiva, Herb Ohta Jr, Walt Keale, David Kamakahi, Benny Uyetake, CJ Helekahi and the Lana’i Ukulele Club.

“Four Seasons is honoured to host the music and cultural festival with such revered artists gracing our stage to perform for the Lana’i community and Resort guests,” says Tom Roelens, general manager of Four Seasons Resorts Lana’i. “We understand the importance of the arts and are privileged to be able to assist with bringing the Lana’i Ukulele Festival to the island.”

The schedule of events include:

Manele Bay - Friday, July 29, 2011; 6:00-9:00 pm - Enjoy music under the stars with special performances by Herb Ohta Jr, Walt Keale, CJ “Boom” Helekahi, and Benny Uyetake and friends.
Coffee Works – Saturday, July 30, 2011; 9:00-11:00 am - Start the morning with a cup of joe at the Ukulele Java Jam with Benny Uyetake.
Café 565 – Saturday, July 30, 2011; 11:00 am – 1:00 pm - Enjoy live music in Lana’i City during lunch.
The Lodge at Koele – Saturday, July 30, 2011; 1:00-2:00 pm - Benny Uyetake will be offering a complimentary Ukulele workshop.
The Lodge at Koele - Saturday, July 30, 2011; 3:00-7:00 pm - The Great Room will come alive with an afternoon of award winning ukulele music. The line-up includes Richard Ho`opi`i, Tony Conjugacion, Brittni Paiva, and David Kamakahi.
Pele’s Other Garden, Lana’i City – Saturday, July 30, 2011; 8:00-10:00 pm - The Ukulele Martini Jam will be held in the heart of Lana’i City for an unforgettable after party.
