Four Seasons Koh Samui Holds 5th Cancer Care Fun Run

For the past 15 years, Four Seasons Hotels Thailand have organized annual charity fun runs to raise funds for cancer research projects in Thailand. Last year’s run successfully raised THB 3.9 million, which was donated to the Genetic Cancer Research Centre at Chulalongkorn Hospital under the auspices of the Thai Red Cross Society.

This year’s event in Koh Samui will be the island’s 5th Cancer Care Charity Fun Run, and will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Nathon Pier in association with the Thai Red Cross Society and with the support of local partners including business associations, government agencies, schools and media partners. Cancer Care Fun Runs will also be held in Bangkok on May 12 and in Chiang Mai on May 19. Proceeds from the run will go towards research projects currently conducted by the Haematological Cancer Research Centre at Chulalongkorn Hospital.

Beginning and finishing in Nathon Pier, the run promises to be a fun and enjoyable Saturday outing for professional runners, joggers, families, students and those just wanting to enjoy the sea breezes from the Gulf of Thailand and take part in a great event for a good cause. Runners may choose either the 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km routes, all perfect for running, jogging or walking. Registration begins at 6:00 am, with the run itself starting at 7:00 am.

All are invited to participate in the run with a minimum donation of THB 250.00 including an official Cancer Care t-shirt, or THB 400.00 including an official polo shirt. Runners will also receive a breakfast box and the chance to win exciting prizes, including accommodation vouchers at various Four Seasons hotels and resorts around the world. The overall winner of the run will be presented with the Queen’s Trophy.
