Four Seasons Jakarta supports 6th Jakarta RACE to fight cancer

Six years after the first 2600 people gathered in the spirit of fighting against cancer, Jakarta RACE is now the city’s largest annual charity run. Jakarta RACE (Race Against Cancer Everyone) is organised by Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta in partnership with PT. Roche Indonesia, HSBC and supported with many other corporate sponsors that are committed to support the cancer education, prevention and direct patient support through various programs. Together, they hope to raise funds that will be donated for cancer education, awareness programs and direct financial aid through the Indonesian Cancer Foundation.

Jakarta RACE 2011 will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Landmark Area with the theme “Jakarta RACE for Indonesia,” representing the spirit of Jakarta RACE and all involved partners, and a hope to continue the fight against cancer not only in Jakarta but also in Indonesia.

The Jakarta RACE 2011 welcomes everyone to be part of this event. Registration for individual runners will begin on September 19 and continue until October 22, 2011 at Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta. The registration fee for the event is Rp 100.000 for adults and Rp 50.000 for children under 10 years old, including an official RACE t-shirts and refreshments.

On the day of the event, participants can choose to walk, jog, run or rollerblade with family and friends on the five-kilometre route, or take the challenging ten-kilometre route. Following the run, everyone is invited to gather, enjoy refreshments with live music entertainment and other activities presented by the partners and sponsors of this event.

The run began in 1981 when Isadore Sharp, founder of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts made a corporate commitment to lead the charge against cancer. Since then, charity run events have been held or supported annually by Four Seasons hotels and resorts around the world to raise funds to support cancer research.
