Four Seasons Hampshire hosts 5th run for cancer research

Teaming up once more with Four Seasons in London at Park Lane and Canary Wharf, Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire will be embracing the spirit of the Games to make the day a complete success. Walkers, runners and supporters will be catered for with a Spa Bar, Kids’ Corner, barbecue, raffle, live music and more, with all proceeds going to charity.

The Terry Fox Foundation continues in memory of Terry Fox, a Canadian cancer victim who ran a staggering 3,339 miles (5374 kilometres) in 143 days with a prosthetic limb to raise money for cancer research. As a Canadian founded company, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has supported the charity every year since Terry’s death in 1981. Each run splits its proceeds with a local cancer research charity of choice. Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire supports the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust, set up by Neil and Angela Dickson in memory of their daughter Samantha, who sadly died of a brain tumour just six days before her 17th birthday. With this charity being the main beneficiary of the event, as well as the leading charity dedicated to brain tumour research in the UK, supporters really will be making a big difference in the fight against cancer locally as well as worldwide.

The event will be held on the Belvedere Terrace at the Hotel between 3:00 and 6:00 pm, with the 5k course mapped out across the rolling hills of Dogmersfield Park. This year’s event will include the Spa Bar, where adults can indulge in a mini-manicure or in-chair massage. There is also a dedicated Kids’ Corner that will occupy the children with face painting, arts and crafts. Chef Cyrille Pannier will be firing up the barbecue to serve a fine grill, with produce donated by local suppliers and all proceeds going to the charities. Raffle tickets will be sold and prizes include a magnum of Champagne and a complimentary night at a Four Seasons hotel.
