Flybe launches new routes

Flybe will this Bank Holiday weekend start operating three brand new summer routes from Newquay Cornwall Airport namely a Saturday service to Belfast City and Newcastle, and twice-weekly flights to Norwich on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Saturday flights start on May 5th with routes operating through to September. One way fares are from £43.99 one way including taxes and charges.

These three new routes increase Flybe’s summer schedule from Newquay to a total of seven key destinations that include its franchise partner, Loganair’s popular service to Glasgow. Their start follows hot on the heels of Flybe’s successful launch last week of its ‘Making flying better’ initiative that incorporates new product offerings and a repositioning of its brand; and the launch of its new Manchester hub from where passengers can take advantage of the wealth of onward flight connections not only with Flybe but also farther afield with the long haul services available through its global interline partners.

Flybe UK Managing Director, Andrew Strong, comments: “We are strongly committed to the South West and to growing the number of destinations we offer from Newquay. The launch of our direct services to Belfast City, Newcastle and Norwich sees us responding to consumer demand, creating convenient and improved transport links to and from Cornwall. These new routes offer benefits for both leisure and business travellers and highlight Flybe’s commitment to giving our customers as much travel choice as possible and generally, to ‘Making flying better.”

Newquay Cornwall Airport’s Finance Director, Keith Marshall, adds: “Flybe’s new routes to Norwich, Newcastle and Belfast City are welcomed destinations to the Newquay Cornwall Airport portfolio. They will make accessibility to and from Cornwall easier than ever and we forecast that an additional 7,000 passengers will pass through the airport as a result. This will not only give local businesses the opportunity to convert new visitors and drive additional revenue during the summer months but will also help people within the region to visit friends and family out of the county more conveniently.”
