Flybe, the UK’s number one domestic airline, today marked the inaugural flight of its new Newcastle to Hannover service with a specially German-themed event featuring traditional costumes and authentic German apple cake cuisine that was served to passengers on the debut flight.
The launch of Flybe’s brand new service will see flights operating three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through until the 29th October. This new route is the first ever scheduled flight offered between Newcastle and Hannover and highlights Flybe’s ongoing commitment to bringing affordable travel to UK regions as well as increasing its presence at Newcastle Airport.
In addition to this first ever scheduled route between Newcastle and Hannover, Flybe offers Newcastle passengers an extensive choice of summer destinations including a new route to Guernsey and other services to Southampton, Belfast City, Cardiff, Exeter, Jersey and London Gatwick.
Mike Rutter, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, comments: “We are delighted to be offering our Newcastle passengers this brand new route to Hannover this summer and think it will be a real benefit to people in the region.
“Flybe’s priority is keeping Britain and Ireland on the move and we remain committed to providing a wide choice of affordable and convenient options to key regional destinations.”
Chris Sanders, Head of Airline Development at Newcastle International said: “We are delighted to see the start of Flybe’s new route to Hannover from Newcastle. The Hannover region is an interesting area to visit and these flights also provide a further way of reaching other German cities such as Hamburg, Bremen and the capital, Berlin. We also expect a significant number of German passengers will use the flights to enjoy all the North East has to offer to tourists.”
Mr Rutter adds: “With flights now available for booking, we’d urge travellers to book early so they don’t miss out on the lowest fares possible.”
