Hampton Hilton Worldwide has today announced the signing of its first Hampton by Hilton hotel in the city of Berlin near the Kaiser Wilhem Church. The franchise deal was signed with Curator Hotelbetriebsgesellschaft mbH Berlin and will see a 214 room hotel open in late 2010 under this fresh and exciting brand which represents Hilton Worldwide’s expansion of its award winning economy hotel brand in Germany.
The Hampton by Hilton Berlin will be situated in the centre of Berlin West with many attractions less than ten minutes walks away including the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, the Zoo and Aquarium and top luxury shopping district Kurfuerstendamm.
In addition to 214 bedrooms, the eight floor hotel will offer meeting facilities with four meeting rooms as well as a fitness area, public areas and a breakfast room.
Welcoming the announcement, Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President of Development for Europe & Africa at Hilton Worldwide said: ‘The introduction of the ‘Hampton by Hilton’ brand in Europe is an important aspect of our strategic development ambition - one that we believe has huge growth potential in Germany.
At Hilton Worldwide we want to offer our customers choice. The addition of HBH in Germany and in particular in Berlin is about just that. Hilton has been synonymous with hospitality in Berlin for many decades and with the addition of the Waldorf Astoria Berlin scheduled opening in 2011 and now the Hampton by Hilton opening close by, we will have hotels for all our guests travel occasions. Berlin is an important destination for business and leisure travellers and our Hampton by Hilton hotel will be a great addition to the city. We see significant opportunity for the economy hotel segment in Germany and are excited about the opportunities for our brands to develop.’
‘Hampton by Hilton’ is a economy hotel brand, which trades in the US as Hampton Inn, and focuses on consistency and comfort for business and leisure travellers alike. Key brand attributes include the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, free high-speed Internet access and a free hot breakfast - all of which have made ‘Hampton’ the preferred hotel choice in North America. The first ‘Hampton by Hilton’ in Europe opened in Corby in the UK earlier this year, and the UK has since welcomed the Hampton by Hilton Liverpool Airport in October this year.
Phil Cordell, Global Head, Focused service & Hampton Brand said ‘Hampton by Hilton’s arrival into Germany is backed by its tremendous success and scale in North America, and its flourishing success in other destinations across Europe including the UK. The strength of the brand rests on four key pillars including: the 100% guarantee, value, service and consistency. These have served as the foundation for its past and future success in both North America and now internationally.’
Achim Marowsky, CEO at Curator Hotelbetriebsgesellschaft Berlin mbH commented: ‘We’re proud of working with Hilton Worldwide. As franchisees, we’re convinced of the success of Hampton by Hilton, especially on the Berlin market.”
