Fairmont Hangzhou given go ahead Hangzhou is an emerging destination in China

FRHI Hotels & Resorts, the parent company of luxury hotel brand Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, and Hengli Management, the subsidiary of Zhong An Real Estate have announced Fairmont Hangzhou, a new luxury hotel development in the capital city of Zhejiang province in the heart of Yangtze River Delta region, Eastern China.

Expected to open in 2017, Fairmont Hangzhou will feature 300 rooms, five diverse dining outlets, a health club and swimming pool, a Willow Steam Spa, and more than 32,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space.

The project will also include 180 Fairmont Serviced Residences, providing access to private concierge services and other exclusive amenities.

Like many of its iconic sister hotels around the world, which lay claim to some of the best addresses in town, Fairmont Hangzhou will be located atop the city’s tallest building, enjoying an enviable spot in the heart of Qianjiang Century CBD, an upcoming business centre that will house large scale meeting and convention venues, Grade A office towers, high-end residences and commercial and retail spaces.

“We continue to expand our footprint in China and are excited to be adding a hotel in a major domestic market like Hangzhou,” said Jennifer Fox, president, FRHI International and Fairmont Brand.

“It’s a city that is renowned for its culture, history and beauty, as well as a destination that attracts both domestic and international travellers.

“Furthermore, with rail and airport expansion projects underway, and visitor numbers expected to rise, it’s an opportune time to be entering the market.”

Shi Zhongan, chairman, Zhong An Real Estate said: “Hangzhou International Office Center is a landmark project located in the core area of Hangzhou Qianjiang Century CBD.

“This project possesses great development potential and has gained great attention from the market.

“It combines a high-end hotel, commercial facilities, office space, and serviced apartments into one development, which incorporates the world’s leading design and green architecture practices.

“Fairmont being one of the top hotel management companies in the world has strong brand visibility and a solid high-end customer base.

“With our partnership, we come together to share resources and to create a successful win-win collaboration.

“The entrance of the Fairmont hotel will further enhance the brand influence of Hangzhou International Office Center and accelerate the overall financial and business service development of Hangzhou Qianjiang Century CBD.”
