EXPO-2017 pavilion presented at the Future Energy World Summit in Abu Dhabi

From 18 to 22 January 2014 Kazakhstan participates in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE.

The World Future Energy Summit 2014 (WFES) was launched today, on January 20, 2014 in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This year more than 26 000 people attended the event; more than 650 exhibiting companies from 40 countries, more than 20 national pavilions are presented there.
Kazakhstan presented its Astana EXPO-2017 pavilion at the exhibition, organised as part of the WFES. Information stand of 225 square meters tells visitors about EXPO-2017 in Astana and its theme Future Energy.

During the opening ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, visited Kazakhstani stand.

- We are extremely pleased to welcome Kazakhstan at the Summit encouraging open dialogue and stimulating new ideas, innovation and investment in the renewable energy and clean technologies sector - said His Highness Sheikh – The theme of EXPO 2017 reflects current issues of alternative energy development. The UAE will take an active participation in the International Exhibition in Astana, and this summit can provide a good platform for cooperation with key partners in the future energy field.

The International Energy Week is held in the UAE capital for the seventh year and is a major annual event in the world, designed to promote the development of renewable energy, energy efficiency and water resources and waste sectors. For Kazakhstan - it is the most important space for open and fruitful dialogue on alternative energy development; it is a good opportunity to invite future exhibitors to participate in EXPO-2017.

The theme of EXPO-2017 “Future Energy” has much in common with the main issues of the summit. Already in 2017 Kazakhstan will become a large-scale global platform for constructive debate in which countries, companies and various organisations will present their views and offer solutions to the major challenges of modern energy.

A day earlier, the representatives of JSC “NC “Astana EXPO-2017” met with the coordinator of the organizing committee of Dubai EXPO-2020 Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. He told about the establishment of a special company in Dubai, which will deal with the concept, design and construction of the exhibition. He also expressed a wish to take an active participation in the preparation and holding of EXPO-2017 in Astana. “For Dubai EXPO 2017 can become a platform for the successful implementation of our project. We are united by not only international relations, but the theme as well. We plan to cooperate in the field of alternative energy and construction”.

It is expected that Kazakhstan’s delegation will also visit the city of Masdar and meet with the organising committee of Dubai EXPO-2020.
