EVA Air to launch Chicago flights in November

Star Alliance member EVA Air has announced a brand new route, the third to be launched in 2016, further reinforcing its status as one of Asia’s most dynamic carriers.

As of November 3rd, EVA Air will connect Taipei directly with Chicago on its latest-model, Wi-Fi equipped Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, making the ‘Windy City’ its eighth gateway into North America.

EVA Air has already launched two new direct, nonstop routes from Taiwan earlier this year – to Istanbul in Turkey and Cebu in the Philippines.
Both routes were introduced in March; Istanbul with four weekly flights, while Cebu has a daily service.

The Taipei-Chicago route is the latest addition to the airline’s expanding network in North America, which already includes: Los Angeles; San Francisco; Seattle; Vancouver; Toronto; New York; and Houston, which was launched in summer 2015.

The new service not only secures EVA Air’s position as the leading airline in terms of flight frequency and capacity between North American and Taiwan but, just as importantly, facilitates more one-stop connections to more destinations throughout Asia and Mainland China than any other carrier.

As part of the airline’s expansion plans, last November EVA Air signed agreements to purchase up to 24 Boeing 787 Dreamlines and two additional Boeing 777-300ERs over the next six years, gradually replacing older models, introducing more flight frequencies and adding new destinations to their schedule.
