Eurowings takes off for Las Vegas

This summer Eurowings passengers can fly cheaply long-haul to Las Vegas.

For decades, the fascinating city in the desert state of Nevada has been one of the most important destinations for holidaymakers to the USA.

The inaugural flight took off from Cologne/Bonn airport earlier, further strengthening the long-haul offering of Eurowings, currently Europe’s fastest growing airline, alongside an extremely extensive offering in Europe.

Only a few days ago, the quality low-cost airline opened its first location in a non-German-speaking country on the island of Mallorca.

This year the airline has already launched from Salzburg and Munich with its own aircraft stationed there.

Oliver Wagner, chief executive, Eurowings: “In addition to our European offering, we are now growing consistently and also very successfully in the only just emerging low-cost long-haul market.

“More than 40 million people visit the fascinating city of Las Vegas every year - and hopefully in the future more and more of them will touch down there with Eurowings.”

Flight days for the Las Vegas route with Eurowings are Friday and Monday.

Eurowings will operate a direct flight on the Cologne/Bonn-Las Vegas route during the summer season up to November 7th.

Las Vegas, Sin City, is certainly one of the most attractive and most popular destinations for German holidaymakers in the USA.

The city, situated in the desert of the US state of Nevada, became an important stopover for wagon trains and railways in the 19th century due to its groundwater resources.
