Eurostar opens bookings for summer holiday Avignon sale

Eurostar opens bookings for summer holiday Avignon sale

Following the success of Eurostar’s trial service to Lyon and Provence last spring, Eurostar’s annual summer services direct to
Avignon in the south of France is now open for sale, earlier than usual and for an extended travel period.

The 2014 weekly Avignon service will run between June 28th and September 13th, with fares available from only £109 return.

The 2014 Avignon service has been extended by two weeks following high demand for Eurostar’s trial spring services to Lyon, Avignon and Aix-en-Provence, which demonstrated that holidaymakers are keen to explore more of Provence.

Based on the success of this trial, Eurostar intends to launch an extended year round service to the south of France in 2015.

For next year, travellers are advised to book early to secure their preferred travel dates.

With direct journey times of less than six hours from London St Pancras International and Ashford International, the summer Avignon service is a perennial favourite with tickets selling faster each year.

Nick Mercer, commercial director, Eurostar commented: “The popularity of our 2013 Lyon Provence trial and our annual summer Avignon services shows us that the Brits love affair with the South of France is stronger than ever.

“By opening sales to Avignon earlier than usual and by extending services we are serving the growing number of people choosing high-speed rail over air.

“Journeys with Eurostar avoid the summer scramble at the airports and increasingly passengers see their rail journey as part of the holiday itself.”
