Europcar has become the first car rental company in Europe to offer its customers an interactive touch-driven table to plan their journeys.
Europe’s leading car rental company unveiled the multi-touch and intuitive Microsoft Surface table at this year’s ITB.
The Fortune Cookie-designed application – which has been developed specifically for Europcar - will be rolled out at Munich Airport before launching in other destinations across the country.
Speaking exclusively to Breaking Travel News, Jehan de The, Europcar’s Global Marketing Director, said: “We are proud to be able to offer our customers this new device, a real gem of technology from Microsoft.
“This approach fits with Europcar’s determination to innovate and facilitate journey planning whilst making car rental a constantly more practical and pleasant experience for our customers.”
Europcar customers will be able to use the application to get information independently and interactively at rental points about their chosen destination or theme-based routes such as gastronomy and history, as well as nearby tourist attractions.
The selected route can then be printed out at the Europcar station.
The Surface Table also includes for special offers from Europcar’s partners allowing users to qualify for special rates, such as at Accor hotels.
The application will also provide special services dedicated to Europcar’s customers, such as practical guides describing or explaining how to use the equipment they have rented.
