Europcar signs on with Aeroflot in five year deal

Europcar and Aeroflot, Russia’s flagship airline and the largest national air company, have announced an exclusive strategic partnership for the next five years to provide quality car rental services to all Aeroflot business and leisure customers.

Marcus Bernhardt, chief commercial officer, Europcar Group, explained: “It is a great opportunity for our group to partner with Aeroflot, Russia’s largest airline company.”

He added: “We share the same customer approach and both our brands stand for high quality of service and customer satisfaction.

“This strategic move will help us strengthen our reach in this key region which has become a hub between Europe and Asia for travellers.

“Europcar looks forward to welcoming Aeroflot customers to our stations across the network.”

Europcar, with one of the largest vehicle rental networks and presence in over 130 countries is the perfect match for Aeroflot which provides, with its SkyTeam partner members service, access to more than 1000 destinations in 178 countries and carried 17.7 million passengers in 2012.

Operating one of the most modern and youngest fleets in Europe, comprising 141 Airbus, Boeing and Sukhoi airliners, with an average airplane age between five and six years old, Aeroflot offers the shortest distance for flights from Europe to Asia via Moscow.

Giorgio Callegari, Aeroflot deputy general director for strategy and alliances, added: “Aeroflot’s commitment to the highest standards of customer service has today taken a further step forward thanks to the agreement with Europcar.

“Our customers will now be recognised across the Europcar network and have access to special offers tailored to better serve their global needs.

“Europcar has been selected as the strategic partner of Aeroflot because of its global reach, aligned customer focus and innovative approach to delivering competitive services. Increased awareness on a worldwide scale will result from the combination of the two longstanding brands.”
