Europcar points to demand for low-carbon transport among UK businesses

New research undertaken by Europcar reveals that 85 per cent of firms surveyed rated reducing the carbon footprint and environmental impact of business travel as ‘important’ or ‘very important’.

Some 44 per cent of those surveyed by Europcar would consider using electric vehicles to improve future business travel for their organisation.

These new findings highlight the importance of Europcar’s commitment to moving its fleet to five per cent electric vehicles by 2020.

At the 2016 Business Travel Show, Europcar experts are discussing these environmental concerns, focusing on its latest initiatives designed to help organisations reduce their carbon footprint while keeping staff moving. 

With a fleet of Nissan LEAF electric vehicles, available for hire as well as to support delivery and collection from selected locations around the UK, and its recent acquisition of a majority share in electric car club, E-Car Club, Europcar is addressing the environmental concerns that underpin the travel strategies of most businesses.

The Europcar research also revealed that over half (55 per cent) of firms see using public transport as a key part of greener business travel.

Europcar supports this goal by locating branches close to key railway stations across the UK. Europcar’s fast-track business desks at 34 UK airport locations also ensure business travellers can continue their journey as quickly as possible.
