Europcar the leader in car hire services in Europe is offering Lynx Hand Controls on automatic vehicles to customers with lower body disabilities, helping spectators and athletes get to the Paralympics under their own steam. Short-term vehicle rental from Europcar offers disabled travellers a flexible transport solution to get them to the Games.

Lynx Hand Controls are suitable for individuals who have full upper body function and good hand dexterity. Available on request within a minimum of 48 hours’ notice, the handsets offer fully interchangeable hand control, which fit over 95% of automatic cars. Disabled customers simply order the sets, free of charge*, at the point of booking and once suitability has been confirmed, the hand controls will be fitted. A representative will explain the controls and operation to the customer, ensuring they can drive with confidence before they set off.

The Lynx Hand Controls can be booked through the Europcar call centre by calling the special assist number. This is open Monday – Friday between 8am – 6pm.  Alternatively customers can call on the normal reservation number. The Lynx Hand Controls can only be hired with automatic vehicles and customers are required to reserve the controls 48 hours prior to their hire.
