Etihad Airways basks in glory as Manchester City wins Premiership

Manchester City have been crowned Premier League champions for the second time in three years after beating West Ham United on the final day of the season.

The 2-0 win gave Manuel Pellegrini’s team the title during his first season in charge.

Etihad Airways has been Manchester City Football Club’s main club partner since May, 2009.

During that time the club has enjoyed considerable success, including its first FA Cup win since 1969 in the 2010-2011 season.

Etihad’s relationship with Manchester City Football Club has gone from strength to strength with the recent announcement of a £400 million, ten year partnership.

The City of Manchester stadium has been renamed as the Etihad Stadium, forming the centre piece of a newly-named Etihad Campus, which encompasses a large part of the Sportcity site in East Manchester, the popular City Square entertainment space and additional existing and planned facilities.

Last year Etihad unveiled the new Manchester City FC liveried aircraft, which was named ‘Blue Moon Rising’.

This aircraft was then used to fly the Manchester City team to the USA & Canada for their pre-season tour.

Following their latest victory the Manchester City squad are expected to fly to Abu Dhabi for an exhibition match and open top bus tour celebrating their victory.

Etihad, also, has been celebrating recently, having defended its title of Middle East’s Leading Airline at the World Travel Awards.
