Eric Rozenberg takes up position with Reed

Eric Rozenberg, president of Belgian based Swantegy, has been appointed as non-executive chair of Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) global portfolio of meetings events.

The role will require Rozenberg to contribute to the strategic development of the portfolio, maximise awareness of the events as well as provide international industry intelligence through his high profile position in the sector.

Additional input will see him provide thought leadership for the professional education program at each of the events on five continents and to act as a facilitator for show events and various speaker programs.

The IBTM portfolio includes AIME (Australia), EIBTM (Spain), CIBTM (China), GIBTM (Middle East) and AIBTM (USA).

Having just completed a year as the first European to be chairman of MPI, Rozenberg will also continue to be fully committed to the development of his own company, Swantegy.

“Eric has been a close supporter of RTE for many years and his industry experience and knowledge will provide a perfect partnership for the management team and our global portfolio of events,” said Craig Moyes, group exhibition director for the global meetings portfolio of events.

“We hope that his international perspective, not least the work he has done in the last year, will give us some interesting new ideas across all levels of our business.”

Belgian born, Eric was one of the founding members of the EIBTM CEO Club and has attended EIBTM for many years, he was at the inaugural GIBTM in Abu Dhabi and more recently at the first AIBTM in the US, and has also been a visitor to AIME.

His own European based company, Swantegy, helps corporations that strategically use meetings and events in their marketing mix, to increase their business performance and engage their various stakeholders.

He has clients and programmes in some 50 countries.

In the last year as chair of the international board of MPI, he has connected with more than 30 chapters, helped advise and co-ordinate the work of the board, as well as provide thought leadership from an international perspective to MPI members around the world.

“I am delighted to be joining the team at RTE to work across their global portfolio from a strategic perspective, helping develop their business performance through this important role.

“I am looking forward to making a positive contribution to grow this sector within Reed Travel Exhibitions,” concluded Rozenberg.
