Enterprise CarShare launches in San Francisco

Enterprise CarShare today announces the launch of its services in San Francisco with more than 20 locations available throughout the Bay Area beginning Feb. 2.

Enterprise CarShare is partnering with General Motors to offer a fleet made up exclusively of Chevrolet vehicles during the first four months of service, including Sonic, Cruze, Malibu and Equinox. In addition to offering the opportunity to drive 2015 model vehicles, new members will also receive $10 in driving credits when they sign up for General Motors marketing emails. This is a first-of-its-kind partnership for Enterprise CarShare, which offers its members around the country an easily accessible transportation option anytime, day or night.

The San Francisco program is the latest step in an aggressive expansion that over the past 12 months has seen Enterprise CarShare significantly increase its footprint throughout North America. Today, the service is available in more than 35 U.S. states, Canada and the U.K., on nearly 100 university campuses, 40 dedicated government and business programs and hundreds of business accounts across the country. Over the past year alone, Enterprise CarShare reports its membership has increased by almost 100 percent and has launched more than 30 new programs in North America.

“Our expansion in the Bay Area underscores our continued, fast-paced growth, and we look forward to helping local drivers move around town in a convenient and affordable way,” said Ryan Johnson, vice president overseeing Enterprise’s CarShare, Rideshare and Zimride operations. “Additionally, through our partnership with General Motors, local drivers will get to experience a variety of Chevrolet vehicles that can meet any of their transportation needs.”

“Enterprise is a great partner and the CarShare program is an excellent opportunity to get more people behind the wheel of a Chevy,” said Dave Barthmuss, West Coast Communications Group Manager for General Motors. “We have a vehicle for every person from every walk of life in our Chevy lineup and we look forward to seeing how people take advantage of our cars in this unique program.”
