Emirates upgrades Manchester services

Emirates has upgraded its evening service from Manchester from a two class Boeing 777-300ER to a three class Boeing 777-300ER, with the service starting on Saturday 1st September 2012.

This 358 seat aircraft increases the seat offering by Emirates to and from Manchester to 2,474 across the three daily services. The morning service from Manchester was upgraded to a three class Boeing 777-300ER on 1st August 2012, which means all three daily flights out of Manchester now offer First Class.

Emirates has identified Manchester as an important hub in the UK and this announcement supports the continued commitment and investment by the airline in the North West of England. This enhanced service will give the people of Manchester and the North West greater opportunity to travel in luxury to popular destinations such as China, Australia and the Far East, amongst others.

With the upgrade of Emirates’ Manchester evening service to a three class Boeing 777-300ER, passengers can enjoy Emirates’ luxurious First Class Private Suites, each fully equipped with a personal mini-bar, adjustable ambient lighting, vanity table, mirror and wardrobe. If guests want to stretch out and sleep, Emirates’ crew will convert the seat into a fully flat bed with a mattress.

Emirates’ first class cuisine and service is worthy of the world’s finest restaurants, with a range of dishes, carefully selected and prepared, available on demand throughout the flight along with some of the finest wines. Passengers can also experience the airline’s award-winning ice inflight entertainment system with a choice of over 600 channels on-demand.

Emirates’ UK VP, Laurie Berryman, said: “Passengers seeking the ultimate Emirates experience will now be able to travel First Class out of Manchester on our evening service, enjoying the finest wines, gourmet food and our multi-award winning ice entertainment system.”

“Ever since Manchester became part of our network in 1990, we have seen a steady growth in bookings culminating in three flights daily. Over five million people have been transported from Manchester since the first launch, which became the third European route after London and Frankfurt.”

“Now that Emirates has introduced the upgrade of its evening service from Manchester to a three class Boeing 777-300ER, passengers have even more choice when travelling, which emphasises Emirates’ huge commitment to connecting the North West of England with the rest of the world.”

Chief Commercial Officer for M.A.G, Ken O’Toole, said: “Emirates services from Manchester Airport are one of our great success stories for business and leisure travel to the Middle East and beyond which is why we welcome the introduction of First Class to its evening service.  For passengers, this creates an onboard product portfolio consistent with the ever-popular A380 and we look forward to working with Emirates to further develop its Manchester operation.”

The first Emirates route from Manchester commenced in November 1990. In March 1999, the route became daily and a second daily was introduced on the route in June 2003. A Boeing 777-300ER replaced an A330-200 in October 2005 and an Airbus A380 commenced a lunchtime service from September 2010.  A third daily service was then launched from May 2011 with an Airbus A330.
