Emirates launches 2010 FIFA World Cup travel packages

Emirates has announced the launch of its new travel packages for the 2010
FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

An unforgettable sporting experience of a lifetime awaits football fans
across the world, following the launch of Emirates’ 2010 FIFA World Cup
travel packages.

As an Official Tour Operator for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa
Emirates, will be offering a number of tailor-made travel packages that
will include flights, accommodation, ground transportation and match
tickets.

The award-winning airline also unveiled its unique ‘follow-your-team’
component of the tour package, which is testament to the airline’s
commitment to the beautiful game and its followers.

Supporters no longer need to wait until their chosen team qualifies, as
this unique package is not only refundable if their country fails to make
it, but guarantees fans gold-dust tickets for each of their team’s matches,
right up to the final on July 11th.

Emirates is currently offering fans the opportunity to follow one of 20
teams, including Australia, Brazil, England, Netherlands, Japan, South
Africa, South Korea and Spain who have already qualified; and Argentina,
Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Russia,
Serbia, Slovakia and USA, who are still battling for a spot among the final
32.

The uncertainty facing fans is heightened by not knowing where their team
will be playing, but no matter which city they are based in for the group
stage, or where they end up playing in the knock-out rounds, the Emirates
package - which includes flights, match tickets, accommodation and ground
transport - covers every eventuality.

Richard Vaughan, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President, Commercial
Operations Worldwide, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer our
first-class expertise in travel services to football fans around the globe.

“To support your team at a World Cup is a once in a lifetime opportunity
for many supporters and we aim to make sure it is an unforgettable
experience for them.

“We are thrilled to be in partnership with FIFA at this incredible sporting
event and, as well as demonstrating our ongoing support of the game, we
believe this package shows we are bringing the spirit of sport to our
customers.”

Thierry Weil, FIFA Director Marketing Division, said: “At FIFA we are
confident that our partner Emirates will offer FIFA World Cup fans with the
perfect travel solution to be in South Africa to support their team.

“The FIFA World Cup, which kicks off at South Africa’s Soccer City Stadium
in 270 days time, is one event that should not be missed and there is
surely no better way that to travel to the tournament than enjoying the
world class hospitality and service on board Emirates.”

Emirates will be offering football fans the choice of five daily flights
into South Africa from its network on six continents, with the options of
flights to Johannesburg, which hosts 15 matches including the opening match
and final; flights to Cape Town, host city of eight matches, and flights to
Durban, which is home to seven FIFA World Cup matches.

Emirates’ partnership with FIFA began at the 2006 FIFA World Cup when it
became the first airline to be a sponsor of the prestigious sporting event.
Following on from the success of the tournament in Germany, Emirates then
cemented its status as an Official FIFA Partner up to and including the
2014 FIFA World Cup.
