El Nido Resorts takes top World Travel Awards title

El Nido Resorts of the Ten Knots Group has been recognised with Asia’s Responsible Tourism Award at the World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony in New Delhi, India.

The Philippines’ leading sustainable luxury resort group came out on top, among seven other nominees, reinforcing its advocacy of sustainable tourism, environmental stewardship and community development.

The World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry.

Today, the WTA brand is recognized globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire.

“Being voted for by your peers in the travel and tourism industry, and the various stakeholders, reaffirms and validates El Nido Resorts’ commitment to sustainability, the environment, and the community,” said Laurent Lamasuta, Ten Knots Group president.

“For more than three decades now, we have been operating responsibly, following strict environmental principles and guidelines to make sure that our operations would make the least impact to the environment and our surroundings,” Lamasuta added.

Located in Northern Palawan, Philippines, El Nido Resorts has four properties which include Miniloc, Lagen and Pangulasian Islands in El Nido, and Apulit Island in Taytay.

All of these island resorts allow the guests to appreciate the natural beauty of the locations, and are testament to the group’s commitment to sustainable practices.
