On 30 October, 2013 the I Eco-Forum of Rural Youth will be held in the Urdzhar district of EKO with the support of the Ministry of Environment Protection of the RK, “Astana EXPO-2017” National company” JSC, Akimat of the Urdzhar district, Youth Center of Urdzhar district in the framework of educational stage of Aliya Nazarbayeva’s “Zhandanu” ecological project. Morning and afternoon sessions of the Forum will be attended by more than 700 young people of Urdzhar, among them – upper class students of the district, representatives of the Youth Center, government officials, and representatives of small and medium enterprises.

The program of the Forum includes theoretical and practical conference “Youth and environment: a new insight”. The documental film “Zhandanu” telling about the eco- initiatives of Kazakhstan, videos of the EXPO-2017 bid campaign, as well as materials on the campaigns held with the participation of young people from all Kazakhstan will be demonstrated during the conference. Representatives of the regional structure of the Ministry of Environment Protection of the RK will talk about the main directions of Kazakhstan’s transition to “green” economy, as well as the leaders of the Youth Center will present their new ideas for development of the youth ECO-tourism and alternative energy. Presentation of the International specialised exhibition EXPO-2017 for the youth will be one of the main ideas of the event. What will the exhibition give to the people of Kazakhstan, what is the role of youth in promoting the project - the EKO youth will get answers for these and many other questions.

The youngest participants of the Forum will also do their part: upper class students - participants in “Ecology of my “I” essay competition sent more than 100 works to the organising committee as yet, and commands of 5 schools of the district are preparing for the ECO-marathon, where they will present their first video works on the theme of ecology, preservation of national traditions and the development of inner values​​, as well as share their thoughts on the preservation of harmony between man and nature.

It should be noted that from November 2012 to May 2013 the activities in the framework of A.Nazarbayeva’s project “Zhandanu” were held in all regional centers of Kazakhstan and Urdzhar will be the first village, conducting similar ECO-Forum.
